World Peace Healing Meditation

We each affirm peace and commit to doing our part to heal the world. It is truly an amazing experience to sense the consciousness and the presence of hundreds of millions of people sharing in this meditation.

Annual Membership Meeting

"Keys to Yourself" Online Youth Evening (via Zoom only)

Fun, Friendly, Relaxed, Relatable
This is a program for youth, ages pre-teen to 17, to learn about their inherent goodness and open up to spiritual ideas and practices for navigating the experiences of life with calm and confidence. Teachers will guide the youth in discussions and interactive activities, enriched with contemporary, affirmative music. We'll tap into the eternal good that radiates inside by celebrating their uniqueness and individuality. We'll encourage them to live their best life from a foundation of authenticity by using their natural strengths to become a shining light in the world. They will learn about simple practices like Mindfulness, Affirmations, and Gratitude to bring peace and joy to their days.

The teachers are professional Prayer Practitioners who have lots of experience with life-affirming activities and working with youth. All you need to do is click on Zoom and bring your smile and an open heart. Invite a friend to join us and don't forget your favorite beverage.

Fall Open House

Labyrinth Meditation Walk
Third Sunday of each month. Next walk: TBD

Taking place in our sanctuary, the walk is gently guided with meditation music and focuses on the qualities of God starting with Life, Love, Light, Power, Peace, Beauty, Joy, Health, and Prosperity.  A brief discussion will take place at the conclusion of each walk.

Memorial Service for Sharon Johnson

From the early beginnings, Sharon was very involved in the establishment and growth of the Church. She was in charge of church operations which included, in those days, OPCRS operating as a “church in a box”, setting up and then packing up for Sunday Celebrations and classes each week at the Arts Center in Oak Park. She was also in charge of the book table, sound system, and recording each week. She helped with hospitality and was the registrar for many classes.

She became a licensed practitioner and a Board member, and in 1996, she graduated from the first ever ministerial studies class of the Oak Park Church of Religious Science.

She served on many church committees throughout the years and attended many classes.

Sharon publicly declared that OPCRS was her demonstration, having requested treatment for a new spiritual home when she attended Asilomar in 1989!

Sharon was a loving presence at OPCRS and still is. We have been blessed by her consciousness for these many years. We bless her on her next journey in Life.
